Townhouse to trailer
I have to start off this post by saying how blessed we are and how nice it is that the Lord is looking after us. With the twins becoming so much more mobile our small townhouse was becoming even smaller! We didn't want to go through the pain of moving until we knew what Keegan would be doing for work. If he got another job in Logan (which was a possibility), we would probably wait until we could get everything worked out to buy a house... but if he didn't get a different job in Logan then we would wait until he got something he liked a little better and go from there. Either way there was some waiting involved and I was okay with that, even if it meant being cramped on space to roam for awhile.
Then it happened. Some of our friends were moving to Taiwan for a year and asked us if we would essentially house-sit their trailer for them while they were gone. I hadn't expected this at all because they were originally having some of their other friends live there but it fell through and they thought of us. So with just a few weeks notice and a vacation to Portland in the middle, we packed everything up, helped our landlord find new renters for the townhouse, and made the two-block journey to "our" new place.
I tend to pack fairly slow as it is- but with crawling babes unpacking what I just packed I was even slower. I have to admit I did think it was pretty funny how they would throw everything out of a box onto the floor, crawl over what they just threw out not thinking anything of it, and then go to the same box to repeat the process as soon as I had it all in there again. I had a lot of help from some women in the ward though volunteering to watch the babies for a couple of hours in between nap-times. Nolan and some hockey guys helped load and unload (on more than one occasion), and Amber, Nolan and trusty Carma helped me clean. Others also helped where they could and we were grateful for that too!
Unpacking was probably worse than packing- but that's okay. We're not completely settled yet because Keegan started a NEW job!! We didn't know he would even interview for it when we agreed to live here, but it has all worked out very well so far. It is great to have a yard to play in, pumpkins to make pies with and carve in a month or so, and more room for our now toddling kids. :-) We are sure this year will go by fast!
