We stayed with my parents the first few nights we were in town and thankfully my mom didn't have to work until later in the morning. That meant I could sleep in a little bit :-) Keegan went to Indoor Goals to re-check out the roller hockey scene in Beaverton. He wasn't disappointed. Later that day we went to a "free Concert in the Park."
One of the cool things about Portland is that it will feature a local band or artist almost every day in the summer at a park somewhere in the Portland Metro area. We decided to go see Sallie Ford at Sellwood Riverfront Park (right by Oaks Park for those of you who know the area.) Seth was the only one we could convince to come with us. :-) We were glad to get him to ourselves for a bit before he went on a kayaking trip. Although we weren't big fans of the music (mostly b/c the sound setup wasn't the best), the atmosphere was great and we enjoyed seeing all of the kids run around, watching the group of teenagers sitting by us (one of the girls was such a brat!!), laughing at what we thought may have been the lyrics to the songs, being in a very diverse crowd, and walking along the waterfront and through the big park complete with teeter-totters. A highlight for Keegan was seeing the free Bike Barn for all those who chose to ride instead of drive. The picture we snapped doesn't do it justice...there were hundreds of bikes lined up! He felt right at home :-)
Day Five
The next day my good friend from high school came over with her little girl and twin boys and she took some great family pictures of us. (As soon as I find the cd I will post them... we're still a bit disorganized from the move!)
After pictures and a nap we took the babies swimming at the pool where Seth lifeguards. They love the water and it was fun to see Seth at work.
